The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Environmental Engineering at the Lodz University of Technology places particular emphasis on ensuring the highest quality of education at all levels and in all forms.
Pursuant to Order No. 10/2019 of the Rector of the Lodz University of Technology dated February 19, 2019, regarding the determination of the procedure for appointing, the rules of operation and organization of the Study Program Councils and the IFE Program Council at Lodz University of Technology, five Study Program Councils were established at the Faculty, whose purpose is to ensure the proper implementation and high quality of education in a given field of study.
Main tasks of the Study Program Councils:
Developing and refining the academic program concept.
Drafting the curriculum for the program and providing academic oversight of its implementation.
Collaboration with university-wide units responsible for implementing parts of the curriculum.
Collaborating with the IFE Program Council on the development of the curriculum for the degree program offered by IFE and implementing resolutions adopted by the IFE Program Council.
Analysis of trends and needs in education within a given field of study.
Improving the curriculum and the quality of education within the field of study, including analysis of survey results and classroom observations.
Promoting the use of new and creative teaching methods in the degree program.
Reviewing candidates for thesis advisors and thesis topics.
Collaboration with the socio-economic environment, including: soliciting feedback from external stakeholders on the degree program and the level of graduates’ professional preparedness, and cooperating in the organization of internships and work placements.
Preparing and submitting an annual report on the quality of education for the field of study to the vice-rector responsible for education for approval.
Preparing reports for accreditation purposes.
Substantive oversight of the degree conferral process.
Internationalization in education.
Organization and oversight of mentoring at the graduate level.
- Preparation of information for recruitment and promotional purposes.
The Faculty systematically carries out activities aimed at developing and improving procedures and mechanisms for ensuring the quality of education, as well as for monitoring and evaluation (including evaluation surveys and classroom observations), and implementing corrective and preventive measures to address any shortcomings.
