In May 1956, by the Resolution of the Minister of Higher Education, the Faculty of Civil Engineering was established at Lodz University of Technology. Our beginnings are tied to the historic palace at 6 Skorupki Street – today the seat of the Rectorate. Since 1970, we have had our own premises in two buildings at 6 Politechniki Avenue, which at the time were on the outskirts of the university (territorially) and now form the heart of campus B.
Today, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering consists of two Institutes – the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning and the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Building Services – as well as three Departments – the Department of Concrete Structures, the Department of Building Materials Physics and Sustainable Design and the Department of Structural Mechanics.
We offer studies in six fields:
- Civil Engineering – since 1956,
- Architecture – since 1973,
- Environmental Engineering in Civil Construction (formerly: Environmental Engineering) – since 1969,
- Urban Planning (formerly: Urban Management) – since 2010,
- Architecture (in English) – since 2019,
- BIM - Modeling and Coordination – since 2026.
From 2017 to 2022, we additionally offered studies in Urban Revitalization.
