Academic patronage over an engineering-profile class at the 43rd General Secondary School named after Julian Tuwim in Łódź
On February 11, 2026, the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, Associate Professor Artur Wirowski, Ph.D., D.Sc. and the Principal of the 43rd General Secondary School named after Julian Tuwim in Łódź, Ms. Katarzyna Kowalczyk, signed a patronage agreement under which the Faculty assumed academic patronage over an engineering-profile class.

Why is this important to us?
we invest in the future – we aim to introduce students to the “engineering reality” and the world of modern technologies already at the secondary school level,
we share knowledge – our lecturers will visit the school, and students will take part in specialized classes, popular science lectures at our Faculty, and Open Days at Lodz University of Technology,
we support passion – this agreement is the result of the cooperation of two women whose engagement made it possible: the initiator of the project – MSc Karolina Kurczyk-Wolnicka (teacher of mathematics and theoretical vocational subjects at the 43rd Secondary School) and the Faculty coordinator and academic teacher – Ewelina Kubacka, Ph.D.
We are especially pleased that the agreement was finalized on February 11 – the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
The meeting was also attended by Łukasz Supeł, Ph.D. – the Dean’s Representative for Promotion in Secondary Schools.
