Awards for outstanding cooperation with the editors of the journal
"Inżynieria i Budownictwo" in 2020

The twenty-sixth annual author competition for articles published in the journal Inżynieria i Budownictwo has been concluded. The Programme Council of PZITB Journals and Publications and the Editorial Board of " Inżynieria i Budownictwo" awarded prizes for outstanding cooperation with the editorial board in 2020. Among the winners are also our employees.

The winners were:

  • Dr Eng. Michał Gołdyn, who received the second prize awarded by the Programme Council of PZITB Magazines and Publications for the article "On the design of contacts between concretes laid at different times" (No. 7/2020)
  • Dr Eng. Przemysław Bodzak, who received an award granted by the Editorial Board of "Engineering and Construction" for the article: "On reinforcing reinforced concrete structures with steel and composite materials" (No. 8/2020)

Scholarship of the Minister of Education and Science for the academic year 2020/2021

 On February 22, 2021, the list of winners of the Scholarship of the Minister of Education and Science for significant scientific, artistic or sports achievements was announced. We are pleased to announce that Ms. Magdalena Śmiałkowska is on this list. Congratulations and we wish you further success!

Awards of the Marshal of the Lodz Voivodeship for our employees

On 17 November 2020. The Board of the Lodz Voivodeship awarded prizes of the Marshal of the Lodz Voivodeship for the best dissertations and theses thematically related to the Lodz Voivodeship.

The habilitation (post-doctoral) thesis of Assoc. Prof. Eng. Arch.  Małgorzata Hanzl from the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning entitled „Morphological analysis of urban structures - the cultural approach. Case studies of Jewish communities in Lodz and Mazovian voivodeships ". Case study of Jewish communities in the Lodz and Mazovian voivodships).

The doctoral dissertation of Dr Eng. Arch. Wiktor Wróblewski from the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning
 was also awarded. “The possibility of temporary development of 'urban voids'", whose supervisor was Assoc. Prof. Eng. Arch. Bartosz Walczak, TUL Prof.

First degree distinction in the competition for the Zbyszek Zawistowski SARP Annual Award DIPLOMA OF THE YEAR – 2020 edition

Our graduate, Arch. Anna Jaruga-Rozdolska, received a first degree distinction in the competition for the Annual Zbyszek Zawistowski SARP AWARD DIPLOMA OF THE YEAR – 2020 edition for her diploma thesis "Research Centre in Wadi Rum in Jordan".

The supervisor of the diploma thesis was Dr. Eng. Arch. Tomasz Krotowski

The work was distinguished "due to a unique interdisciplinary study, a combination of knowledge from two fields: astronomy and architecture, and the result in the form of a functional technological object with a mature, beautiful architectural form. The boldness of reaching all the way to the stars in a sensitive way is realized by discreet traces on the sand of the desert."

Project "PolyCoat - polyurea coatings" awarded in the competition "I have an idea for a startup"

On October 16, 2020, during the Final Gala of the "I Have an Idea for a Startup" Competition, the "PolyCoat - polyurea coatings" Team was among the 17 awarded projects, receiving a financial award for further development of the idea.

Team members:

Artur Matusiak - participant of doctoral studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering at TUL, civil engineer, construction manager with 4 years of experience in the profession;

Jacek Szafran - researcher at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering
at TUL, civil engineer, designer with over 17 years of experience in the profession;

As part of the Competition, the team was supplemented with the support of Mentor - a graduate of industrial chemistry in Padua - a specialist in the field of industrial polymers and research and development projects, finally creating an international team that cooperated for over half a year to achieve the best results in the Competition.

The "PolyCoat - polyurea coatings" project is a research and development project (carried out as part of doctoral studies at Lodz University of Technology), including the use of polyurea systems in the field of improving the strength and durability of structural elements used in construction.
